So, May 28 & 29 Alyssa and I took Mia and NahmWhan (aka NW) to Chicago for a QUICK sightseeing tour. We stayed at a fabulous hotel... two bathrooms, none the less... Mia was stoked about our accommodations!
We even had a semi-private elevator (executive level) with a bench and all (like in Pretty Woman)!
The first night there we tried to go up in the sky deck but it was SO foggy and stormy that visibility was ZERO. 
So, we spent our time by taking a taxi ride (yep, no car seat... such rebels)to the Cheesecake factory and picking up desert for later in the hotel room...

So, we spent our time by taking a taxi ride (yep, no car seat... such rebels)to the Cheesecake factory and picking up desert for later in the hotel room... Then we stopped in and visited the Hard Rock Cafe before having dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Mia and NW really liked it there!
Mia was mesmerized by all of the stuff there... couldn't get her to look at the camera :)

After dinner we hiked (in the rain, none the less) to Navy Pier... and spent some time inside hoping the Ferris Wheel would open up once the storms passed... Mia made a bear (with a little help from her Mama)!
After that we decided (crazy as we were) to take a boat ride at like 9pm in the freezing cold wet dreary night. No worries. We had lots of fun and the view was spectacular!
After that we were so cold and so wet that we decided not to wait in the 45 minute line and ride the Ferris Wheel... instead we headed back to the hotel to eat cheesecake, drink wine and take warm showers... and snuggle the baby of course.
Saturday AM. Still raining. Had to walk a few miles to get the the Shedd Aquarium... then were told the line just to get in the door was 2 hours. Ugh. However, we learned about the accessible entrance where you either had to have a wheel chair or stroller to get in and we made it through the line in about 30 minutes. Double hooray for having Mia with us.
After such a long day at the aquarium we headed out for some authentic Chicago style pizza but the day had just been too much for Mia to handle... she napped all wrapped up in my sweatshirt clueless to her surroundings... Such a little sweetie. She was SO good the entire time we were gone. Honestly, couldn't have asked for a happier little girl.
NW was tuckered out on the way home. She napped...
...and Mia napped some more.
Whew. What a fun and exhausting weekend.
